Conciliation Training

for Attorneys

Conciliation is a significant Alternate Dispute Resolution process that can benefit all areas of legal practice. Trained attorney conciliators facilitate discussions and negotiations between parties and their attorneys to help explore settlement and improve communication.

Cape Mediation is offers an 8-hour court—certified conciliation training for attorneys. The training is led by experienced attorneys and conciliators that created and run the district court conciliation programs in Barnstable County. The training is designed to build skills and awareness of strategies for successful conciliation through newly designed training materials and interactive discussions, with a special emphasis on group role plays. You will learn effective dispute resolution techniques. program processes and procedures ethical standards, common issues conciliators face and program guidelines for conducting conciliations.

Upon successful completion, attorneys will be qualified to participate in court-connected conciliation programs. This 8-hour training satisfies the requirements of Rule 8 of the SJC Uniform Rules on Dispute Resolution.

This training will be fully remote.
