October 2024 – UMass Law Pro Bono Fair

Cape Mediation visited UMass Law’s bi-annual Pro Bono fair to discuss our programs, services, and mission to current law students seeking Pro Bono opportunities.

On site we had our Executive Director, Anne Tessier, her part-time assistant and current student at UMass Law, Peter Kelsey, and current intern and student at UMass Law, Margaret Harris.

Together we talked with students, gathered contact information for potential applicants, and helped distribute Cape Mediation souvenirs.

October 2024 – Chatham Orpheum Theater

For Conflict Resolution Week, 2024, Cape Mediation volunteers got together to view Captain Philips at the Chatham Orpheum Theater.

The movie portrayed themes in conflict resolution like communication, negotiation, and empathy, giving an informal perspective on Alternative Dispute Resolution skills.

The theater was gracious enough to not only allow a table for Cape Mediation, but also helped our outreach by playing on-screen advertisements from Cape Mediation beforehand.

September 2024 – Sea Dog Brew Pub, Yarmouth

Thank you for putting together an afternoon to meet new people and see old friends! It was a very enjoyable event and I know it took hours of work on your part. Especially in these days of so much remote interaction, it’s a reminder of how much it means to see each other in person.
