Mediation is a voluntary, confidential process that empowers you to make confident decisions about issues that shape your life and that can de-escalate, manage, and resolve conflicts. It is a win-win process built on communication and cooperation.
Though you ultimately control the outcome, you are guided by a qualified mediator through a clear, step-by-step process:
- Everyone involved comes together to discuss the situation.
- The mediator meets individually with each person involved to uncover what’s most important to them and to explore solutions.
- Everyone reconvenes to write up the necessary agreements.
Who are Mediators?
Mediators are neutral third parties. They don’t take sides, decide who’s right or wrong, or give advice. All Cape Mediation mediators have completed training approved by the Massachusettes Bar Association.
